The
GCC-CICCD was established in 2007, and its Statue approved in 2009, and
has commenced operation since in 2010 to realize the desire and
aspirations of the member states in upgrading their practices to
save lives, general health and common interests.
The GCC-CICCD being established in recognition
of the serious problems resulting from the illicit trafficking of drugs, and
due to the concerns of the member states about this problem, namely: United Arab
Emirates, Kingdom of Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, state
of Qatar and state of Kuwait, its headquarters located in Doha, state of Qatar.
The
Centre is working in more than one direction to achieve its lofty mission of
strengthening anti-drug security work among Member States, upgrading it to
broader areas based on cooperation and integration to make the best use of
information, and seeking to build bridges of cooperation with international and
regional drug control organizations.
We care
about preparing periodic data and analytical reports that serve decision
makers, organizing anti-drug events such as training courses, seminars,
conferences, meetings and workshops, as well as preparing specialized studies
and research in the field of drugs combating.
Collecting, analysing, organizing and sharing information with stakeholders of Member States, which greatly assists in criminal investigations into drug cases and their consequences. Along with supporting the efforts of the relevant agencies and develop cooperation and coordination among GCC countries in combating illicit drugs and international organizations as well. Also by Following up on technical developments in the fields of knowledge and science.
To be the leading center and the center of excellence in the system of exchange and analysis of information and criminal investigations to support and strengthen the joint Gulf work in combating drug and psychotropic substances and the crimes related to them. Also to exercising monitoring and control over precursors and chemicals and reducing their spread to move forward with the security of the region for the better
The Center organizes a
number of different workshops, conferences, training classes and seminars that are related to the
field of combating drugs and the crimes related to it.
The
GCC-CIC has led and contributed in many operations and information sourcing in the region
and globally with partners to combat illicit drugs sales and trafficking and at many times by
being a source of information that gets shared with partners.
The
center has signed many MOU’s with different organizations, centers,
universities and establishments globally which are related to the field of
combating drugs and the crimes related to it. Some of the MOU’s which have been
signed are with the NCA-UK, CARICC, UNODC, Hemaya International Center, the
Naif Arab University for Security Sciences-KSA and there are other center.
